How to Choose a Doctor

When you consult a Doctor for treatment or medical opinion selecting a proper specialist is very important. This article gives you important facts regarding the specialise Doctors. Basically all categories divided into two, they are Physician (mainly treat the patients using medicine and with other non-surgical procedures), and Surgeon (basically treat with surgical procedures)

Family Physician (Family Doctor)
This is your first contact person. Every person needs a family Physician that stays close to your place. If you are ill, first visit to your family Doctor. (family physician).

Anesthetist
Anesthetist is a physician in charge of anesthesia and perioperative medical arrangements.

Cardiologist
Physician who specialize in the field of Heart diseases.

Cardiothoracic surgeon
Cardiothoracic surgeon is the doctor who involved in surgical treatment of diseases affecting organs inside the thorax (the chest) generally the conditions of the heart (heart disease) and lungs (lung disease).

Chest physician
A doctor specialized in chest diseases. (Like asthma, bronchitis, or any disease relate to lung)

Chest surgeon (Thoracic surgeon)
A doctor who involved in surgical treatment of diseases affecting organs inside the thorax. (Chest & lung)

Dermatologist
A doctor involve in the field of Dermatology (That is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin and its’ diseases, a unique specialty with both medical and surgical aspects)

Endocrinologist
An endocrinologist is a doctor who specializes in the treatment of hormone related disorders. They also involve in the treatment of diabetes, cholesterol and thyroid problems.

ENT Surgeon
A doctor specialized in Otolaryngology (ENT -ear, nose, and throat) is known as ENT surgeon. That is the branch of medicine and surgery specializes in the disorders of the head and neck

Gastroenterologist
Diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract, which includes the organs from mouth to anus, along the alimentary canal, are the focus of this specialty. Physicians practicing in this field of medicine are called gastroenterologists

Genitor Urinary Surgeon
Genitor Urinary Surgeons offer the most advanced technologies in the treatment of urologic disorders. That is any disease related to kidney, bladder, ureters or urethra.

Haematologists
Physicians specialized in blood disorders (hematology) are known as haematologists.

Histopathologist
Histopathology refers to the microscopic examination of tissues in order to study the manifestations of disease. Histopathologist examine of a biopsy or surgical specimen to confirm the diagnosis of your disease.

Neonatologist
Neonatology is a subspecialty of pediatrics that consists of the medical care of newborn infants. Especially the ill or premature newborn infant and is usually practiced in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) under the supervision of neonatologists.

Nephrologist (Renal physician)
A physician who involve in mainly diseases related to kidney.

Neurologist
A neurologist is a physician who specializes in neurology, (medical specialty dealing with disorders of the nervous system.)

Neurosurgeon
A neurosurgeon deals with various surgical operations to do with the nervous system, which included the spinal cord, brain, skull and peripheral nerves.

Obstetrician & Gynecologist (VOG)
A doctor who dealt with the female reproductive organs in their pregnant and non-pregnant state, respectively.

Onco surgeon (cancer surgeon)
Surgeon who is focuses on the surgical management of cancer.

Oncologist
A medical Doctor who practices oncology. (Branch of medicine that deals with cancer) .They mainly treats with non-surgical methods.

Ophthalmologist (commonly called as eye surgeon)
An ophthalmologist is a specialist in medical and surgical eye problems.

Orthopaedic Surgeon
Orthopaedic surgeon is the surgeon who treats for the conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. (That is bone, muscles and related tissues)They use both surgical and non surgical means to treat musculoskeletal conditions.

Pediatrician
A medical practitioner who specializes to treat children (Year 1 to 12), and adolescents is known as a pediatrician

Pediatric surgeon
Pediatric surgeon is a specialize doctor involving the surgery of fetuses, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.

Physician
A physician (commonly called as VP) a medical practitioner who specializes in medicine to treat adult patients. Remember they do not involve in surgical conditions.

Plastic surgeon
Plastic surgeon involve in reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns.

Psychiatrist
A psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in psychiatry (That is the medical specialty related to the mental disorders).

Rheumatologist
A specialist involved in the non-surgical treatment of rheumatic illnesses (join diseases), especially arthritis.

Sports Physician
Sports Physician is a doctor who treats for the professional and recreational athletes (players) .They mainly treat for sports injuries and advised for all medical problems related to sports.

Surgeon (General surgeon)
A doctor that focuses on surgical treatment for abdominal contents (including esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts), and often the thyroid gland. They also deal with diseases involving in the skin, soft tissue, breast, and hernias.
